Reflections…
I haven really had time to sit down and ponder upon 2010 that has just gone by till today and I realize, wow! what a year with many happenings, both up and down.
2010.
- The year started with many happenings from 2009 and thus a countdown to 2010 in the car, missing the Uth watchnight service but I know that God is still doing His work in His ways in both of their hearts and all I can do is really to just pray for them that they would turn around from what they are doing.
- Turning 21 was definitely nice to have family, relatives, poly friends and church friends all together on the same day. Other than that, 21 is just turning a year older with more responsibilities, burdens and worries that I do not have to carry on my own. PS: I kinda hate growing up!
- Pass my driving on the second attempt on the 15 of March was definitely an awesome thing! :)
- Bible School was such an eye opener to firstly the leadership of the church. I really enjoy praying and serving together with the Pastors, Full time Staff and students this year. To see a different side of all of them and their love for God encourages me and spur me on to do the same. Going through this year in bible school though I missed many lessons challenged me to go deep into the bible and chew upon it for there is really much you can get out of it when you chew upon it. Not just reading it.
- ITE Pe Teaching, Soccer and Floorball Coaching what can I say, I came into the year without a clue whether I would get a job and what it would be and every single time I prayed to the Lord and commit it to Him He provided schools and opportunities! God knows my need and His timing is just perfect! Thank You GOD!!
- Graduation was really nice because my mum was there and I received an award which I knew no about it. This three years in RP has been fun because of the crazy bunch of DSES students that I get to meet.
- Church Camp always reminds me of how new friendships can be developed with great example of 2009 and this year I met two new friends though not close but I’m glad to have met them and see them around in church. Preacher’s message was awesome and thank the Lord for a great getaway from the hussle and bussle of life.
- Philippines Evangelistic Campaign was definitely one of the highlight of the year. From how the Lord opened the door for me to go just two weeks before the trip though I booked the tickets way in advanced before asking my mum to learning many lessons from the people there. Their love for God and passion for evangelism sometimes puts me to shame. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to share His love to the many students in the many classes in the many schools that we went to. And it’s definitely by His Holy Spirit that souls are touched and saved not how good we can preach the Gospel. Also, it’s really neat to see how different people from different countries from all over the world are able to come together to do the Lord’s work together!
- Albatross indeed has taken flight. This is definitely one of the other highlight of the year. From placing me in the team to unsure whether the Lord wants me to be in the team to being in the team and bonding as a team, training as a team without any conflicts and in fact sweet unity was God’s intervention. From SGS to RJC to Poly to Working adults, we set our differences aside and played together as a team. We prayed as a team in our last few matches too and the Lord in this season kept us from injuries and it was a bonus to have won the division 2 league. About half of the team were able to hear the Good News during the Christmas outreach. May God continue to use this as a platform to reach many girls to the Lord!
- The Great Escape/ICE has been an awesome journey. There were ups and downs in ICE at the beginning of the year. And we thought to ourselves or at least I did, with what we have now, it’s impossible for ICE to lead the end of year youth camp. But.. with God all things are possible!! The Lord raised Ray to lead the ICE group. We grew in numbers.. but soon it reduced and the main and core people we have today were those we have focused on in 2010. We grew together as a ministry. From acappella worshiping, to changing venue to James place, serving together at Meltz and of course the end of year uth camp. I see many grew so much in the Lord as we grew together and served together in the EOY camp. I personally enjoyed serving together in the camp com team and I am excited as to what the Lord is going to do in the following year.
On a personal note to different people:
- Even though we grew further away from each other after July, I am really glad to have met you in church camp 2009. Thanks for just being you. Continue to trust that the Lord is able to do that great thing in your life and your family.
- I know we weren’t as close as compared to the past but I’m glad we could still talk when we meet and definitely it was nice to have those good old random talks. I pray that you will make your decisions not based on what you think and weigh it out but to commit it to the Lord and make the decision. I look forward to serve together with you again.
- I am really glad to see prayers answered as to how you are growing in the Lord. I am excited. Someone told me that someone else told her that it’s the love for God and serving that makes someone attractive. I pray that God will continue to use you greatly in the area of ministry you are in and as you start a new chapter may you continue to stay focus and keep your eyes on God and not neglect your devotional life. The most needful thing.
- I am glad to have met you at church camp 2010. Though I still dont know you well and there were some misunderstandings, I thank God it is resolved and now we communicate more through the old traditional ways which is good too. I heard about what is going on and I pray that you will not let your feelings/emotions take a hold of you. Surrender it all to God.
- Same goes to you. Continue serving the Lord in the gifts and talents He has given you and remain humble and teachable.
- I’m glad to be able talk to you again at that meet up and to hear your heart beat for the group of friends you want to reach out to. But please do take care of yourself first. I’ll be praying for you.
Don’t let the past cripple you.
Goodbye 2010, Hello 2011!
